Bruce Shapiro's Eggbot and his idea to use it as a vehicle for teaching about electronics and mechanical devices inspired me to make one of my own. I designed and built some low cost prototypes for use by groups. Before I could go much further with the project, Bruce, in cooperation with Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories offered a more elegant version which cleverly used printed circuit boards as mechanical components.
