This site was originally built with Hugo. Since I am not familiar with Go, it was hard to remember how to make changes or add to the site.

I switched to Nikola because it is written in Python, which I know pretty well, and the layout of the files made sense to me. Chris, the author of Nikola, was very helpful in answering my beginner questions and suggesting better alternatives to my inelegant initial attempts.

A while after rewriting the site using Nikola, I realized that I don't really need a static site framework and that it would be easier to use plain old HTML, CSS and Javascript. That is what I am using now with Cactus which supports Django templates.
